Very Small Back Garden, Abingdon
A small square garden behind a modern brick house; the existing strip of concrete slabs along the house was too narrow and there was nothing to draw you into the garden.
The slabs were re-positioned to make an ample patio area, and a pergola was erected to support climbing plants as well as a hammock. A diagonal path towards a water-fountain in one corner brings a new focal interest, and triangular flowerbeds in the remaining corners add colour. The fence was repaired and repainted and will support more climbers on wires stretched between vine eyes on the posts.
